On 14th May,2019, Government had revealed that about 17 people were admitted to Mpulungu Urban Clinic for suspected Cholera. Mpulungu District Commissioner, Mr Dennis Sikazwe confirmed this to the press.

The Zambia Medical Association takes keen interest in matters of health affecting the nation. One of its mandate is to assist government to mitigate the devastating effects of epidemics such as cholera. To respond to this emergency, ZMA and Trade Kings Foundation have donated close to 3000 bottles of chlorine to assist in the fight against cholera in Mpulungu district.

At the ceremony to receive the donation, ZMA Vice President, Dr Samson Chisele applauded the gesture by Trade Kings Foundation for responding to the call by the Association. Dr Chisele further emphasised the need for members of the public to be on alert and observe the universal precautions of hygiene which include hand washing with soap after using the toilet or before handling food, warming food before eating and to avoid buying of foods from the streets. Handing over the donation was Trade Kings Group Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Manager Ms Bridget Kambole, said Trade Kings Group core business is to improve hygiene and sanitation for the Zambian people and other regions in Africa where the group has presence.
